Summary

Brent Marshall, a young father, is satisfied with his life. His wife, Sarah, however, resents his habits of drinking and gambling.  After Sarah receives Christ as her Savior, Brent warns her not to try to push her new found faith on him.  Six year old Melissa, who loves her father very much, is so concerned about his salvation that she makes it her one wish for Christmas.  Facing gambling debts and the ridicule of coworkers, Brent reluctantly agrees to attend the church’s Christmas concert in order to hear his little girl sing.  A tragedy occurs at the end of the concert that sends Melissa to the hospital and Brent to his knees. (Don’t worry. It has a happy ending!)

Note:  This play is unique in that the audience becomes a part of one scene and some of the play’s action takes place in the church aisle, making the story seem very realistic!

Songs

There are five songs for an adult choir and one children’s song.  All music is written in a beautiful  conservative style. The piano music is written on an intermediate/early advanced level.  An accompaniment CD may be purchased for just $9.95.  (We will also include a FREE CD of the choir songs sung by the choir members of the original production.) If preferred, the choir section of this musical drama may be presented alone as a mini-cantata without the drama.  Also, because of the way the play is designed, you could substitute Christmas Carols or a presentation by the children of the nativity.  It is very flexible, making it the ideal program for any church regardless of the size and/or skill of your choir.
